Group Affirmations

Let's form a circle where we can all see each other clearly. Have the deck of cards spread out in the middle face up, so all the images are visible.

  1. Explain to everyone that they will each choose a card that they feel represents a compliment or an affirmation for the person to their right. This could relate to a shared experience, a personal trait they admire, or something special they have noticed about them.

  2. Invite the group to take a moment to think about the person to their right. What qualities do they bring to the group? How have they impacted you or the group positively? Have each person look through the cards and pick one that they feel best represents a compliment or affirmation they have in mind for them.

  3. Starting with a volunteer, each person will present their chosen card to the person on their right, explaining why they chose that card and what it signifies about them. Encourage everyone to listen respectfully and accept compliments with an open heart. Let the group know that it's as important to receive compliments graciously as it is to give them sincerely.

  4. Continue around the circle until every person has both given and received a compliment. This ensures that everyone feels valued and recognised.

  5. After the last person has shared, take a moment to reflect on the activity. How did it feel to receive a compliment?
