Debriefing

Gather everyone in a comfortable space where they can all see each other. Spread the Formatio Cards on the floor, making sure everyone can easily reach them.

  1. Explain that each person will choose a card that represents an aspect of an activity or event the group has experienced together. This could be a feeling, a lesson learned, a challenge faced, or a moment of joy.

  2. Give everyone a moment to think about the experience you're debriefing. Then, one by one, have each person choose a card that speaks to them about that experience. Encourage them to trust their intuition—it’s okay if the connection between the card and their experience isn’t immediately obvious to everyone else.

  3. Once everyone has picked a card, form a circle. Starting with a volunteer or going in a circle, each person names their card and briefly explains why they chose it and how it relates to the shared experience. Make sure to listen respectfully to each person’s explanation, as this is the heart of the activity.

  4. Conclude the activity by thanking everyone for their participation and sharing. You might want to close with a short reflection, prayer, or thought that ties back to the group's shared values or goals.

Extra Option: After everyone who wanted to share has done so, open the floor for any reflections or observations about the cards chosen and the stories shared. This can lead to deeper insights and connections among the group.
